The Handoff is operated by J&J Technical Services ("we"). This page explains what we collect and what we do with it. The short version: we keep as little as possible, we encrypt what we keep, and we only release it under the process you set up.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address, and a hashed password (we never see or store the password itself).
- Your family file: the institutions, categories, last 2 to 4 digits of account numbers, phone numbers, notes, and wishes you enter. We block full account numbers, Social Security numbers, and passwords. This content is encrypted at rest.
- Account mapper: if you paste sender addresses, we match them to institutions in memory and keep only the account names you approve. The pasted text is not stored.
- Keepsakes: photos and videos you upload, with optional captions, encrypted at rest and stored outside any public web folder.
- Trusted people: the names, email addresses, and relationships of the people you choose.
- Release requests: if your trusted person requests a release, the documents they upload (for example a death certificate and a photo ID), encrypted and viewable only by our review staff.
- Activity log and server logs: sign-ins, changes, downloads, and release steps, with IP address and time, for security.
Who can see it
Only you, until a release is approved and your waiting period has passed. After that, your designated trusted person (executor) can see your closeout plan and notes, and each recipient can see only the keepsakes you assigned to them. Our staff can see release documents to verify them. We do not sell or rent your data, we don't use advertising trackers, and we don't use your content to train AI.
Cookies
One essential cookie keeps you signed in and protects forms. No advertising or analytics cookies.
Keeping and deleting
You can edit or delete anything at any time. Settings → Delete account removes your account, family file, and keepsakes immediately (backups roll off within 30 days). Questions or requests: sales@jandjtechserv.com.
